There’s something about fall desserts that makes me want to get into the kitchen and create something fun. Maybe it’s the warm colors, the cozy flavors, or simply the excuse to turn just about anything into a fall theme.
This Autumn tree Chocolate Bark is one of those recipes that looks much more complicated than it actually is. With just a three ingredients you can create adorable little pretzel trees covered in colorful “leaves.”I especially love using red, orange, yellow, and green cereal pieces because they remind me of the changing leaves during fall. Against the chocolate, those bright colors really pop.

Make this colorful Autumn Leaves Chocolate Bark with chocolate, fruity cereal, and pretzel sticks. An easy no-bake fall treat that’s fun to make and eat!

How to Make Autumn Tree Chocolate Bark
Follow the instructions below carefully for the best results.
Instructions:

Creating the Base:
- Start by sorting the fruity rice cereal pieces. Pull out the red, yellow, orange, and green pieces. Set the cereal aside while you prepare the chocolate. Then Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set it aside also.
- Measure out your melting chocolate and separate 1 ounce to use later for decorating the trees.
- Place the remaining chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the chocolate in 30 second intervals, stirring between each interval. Continue until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Be careful not to overheat your chocolate. Stirring between intervals helps distribute the heat and prevents lumps or hot spots.
- Pour the melted chocolate onto your parchment lined cookie sheet.
- Using a spatula, quickly spread the chocolate into an even layer. It doesn’t have to be perfectly rectangular. In fact, don’t worry about making it perfect at all! We’re going to break the bark into individual pieces later.
- Sprinkle some of your colorful cereal pieces over the melted chocolate.
- Place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator for about 8–10 minutes, or until the chocolate has hardened

Brining the trees to Life:
- Once the chocolate is firm, remove it from the refrigerator. Break the bark into approximately 7–8 pieces. You can use your hands to break it into pieces, or use a knife if you want more control over the shapes.
- Next, take some of your pretzel sticks and break them into smaller pieces. These will become the branches of your fall trees. Don’t worry about making every branch the same size. Trees in nature are not perfectly symmetrical.
- Melt the remaining 1 ounce of chocolate using the same 30-second microwave intervals. Once it’s melted, put the chocolate into a piping bag and Cut a small hole in the tip of the piping bag.
- Now comes the fun part!,Take one piece of chocolate bark and decide where you’d like your tree to go. Pipe a line of chocolate and place the longer pretzel tree trunk and then smaller branches onto the chocolate bark.
- Then pipe small dots of chocolate around the branches. Place pieces of your red, orange, yellow, and green cereal onto the chocolate dots.
- Add a few pieces for a simple tree, or go all out and make your tree nice and full.
- Allow the chocolate to sit for about 5 minutes, or until the decorations have completely set.
- And that’s it!Your adorable Autumn Tree Chocolate Bark is ready to enjoy

Make It Your Own
One of my favorite things about chocolate bark is that there really isn’t a wrong way to make it. Fruity rice cereal gives this recipe its colorful fall leaf look, but you can experiment with other cereals or crunchy toppings.
Want your trees to have huge branches or you want tiny trees all over the bark? Go for it! Want to make each piece a completely different shape? Use those hands and get to breaking. That’s part of the fun!
You can also change up the toppings. Try adding nuts, dried fruit, candy pieces, mini marshmallows, or other crunchy snacks. If you’re making this for a Halloween party, you could even add Halloween colored candy or sprinkles. For Thanksgiving, stick with warm fall colors like orange, yellow, red, and brown.
TMI TIPs for Barking(get it lol):
Work quickly. Once you spread your melted chocolate onto the parchment paper, add some of your cereal while the chocolate is still melted and soft.
Don’t overheat your chocolate. Microwave it in short intervals and stir frequently.
Make the bark as thick or thin as you like. A slightly thicker bark will give you sturdier pieces for decorating.
Don’t stress about perfection. The beauty of bark is that every piece can be different.
Use a small opening in your piping bag. This gives you more control when piping on the chocolate bark.

Storage
This Autumn Tree Chocolate Bark is best eaten fresh. If you have any leftover, store them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 4 days. Please keep in mind that the fruity cereal may begin to lose some of its crunch after about 3 days.
