Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Prepare the Crumble: In a bowl, combine the oats, unsalted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Use clean hands or a fork to mix the ingredients until they clump together and resemble crumbs. Set this bowl aside for later.
Prepare the Cake Mix: In a larger bowl, prepare the cake mix according to the instructions on the box.
Fill the Cupcake Wrappers: Place cupcake wrappers in the cupcake pan. Use a spoon or an ice cream scoop to fill each wrapper a little over halfway with the cake batter.
